CEO Banca Transilvania
Ömer Tetik was born in Hamburg and grew up in Izmir. His first language was German, but he learned Turkish at five years old, when his family moved to Turkey.
He wanted to pursue a career in economics, so he opted for the classes of the Technical University of Middle East (Ankara), the Faculty of Economic Sciences, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He started his career at Ata Securities, in Izmir, and one year later, he left for Istanbul to be part of the Treasury team of Finansbank. In 1997, he moved to Russia, as the manager of the department of Treasury and Capital Market of Finansbank Moscow.
In 2000, Finansbank decides to assign him a new mission – Romania – as deputy vice president. He becomes the vice president and president of Credit Europe Bank (ex Finansbank) in 2010. Since 2013, he has been the CEO of Banca Transilvania. He is one of the top 100 admired CEOs of Romania (2019, Business Magazin).
Hobbies: Ömer Tetik likes spending time with his family and is passionate about percussion instruments, motorcycles, traveling and music.
